Admin policy to migrate users from classic Outlook to new Outlook for Windows
Microsoft has introduced an ‘Admin-Controlled Migration to New Outlook’ policy that allows IT admins to guide users in migrating from the old version of Outlook for Windows to the new one. This three-step migration includes prompts and messages that will help users navigate the process. Additionally, this policy features options for re-initiating migration if users choose to revert back to the classic Outlook version. Users will receive prompts encouraging them to try out the new Outlook interface, and they will be able to toggle back to classic Outlook at any time. Prior to implementing this migration policy, it is important to ensure that the new Outlook toggle is visible to users. The policy can be set as a GPO or a registry key, and can be managed via Cloud Policy. By implementing this policy, organizations can effectively migrate their users to the new Outlook for Windows, with IT admins guiding users through the process.
