The new version of Outlook for Windows has added the capability to apply Intune policy to a specific primary account. This feature is based on the primary SMTP address from Active Directory. Its goal is to simplify the setup process for new managed devices and ensure that company policies are always followed.
With this update, it's easier for organizations to manage their devices by ensuring that company policies are respected, no matter which device users are working on. This feature is now generally available as part of the Outlook release, and was implemented with the aim of increasing productivity and security.
To take advantage of this feature, simply update your Outlook for Windows to the new version and configure the settings for your primary account. This update was released in July CY2024 and is available for use on desktop and cloud instances worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant).
