New Microsoft Teams rollout schedule, new controls, and direct deployment

If you're a Microsoft Teams user, you'll want to stay informed about the app's upcoming changes. The company is rolling out new features such as third-party, line-of-business applications, breakout rooms, and multi-tenant organization (MTO) scenarios to the new Teams experience since March 2023. You can read about these features in MC533687 and visit The new Microsoft Teams (Preview) for upcoming features, Government Clouds, and support for platforms such as Web, VDI, and Mac.
This announcement includes three upcoming changes to the rollout of the new Microsoft Teams app. Firstly, the "Try the new Teams" toggle will be displayed within the classic Microsoft Teams client for admins who've set UseNewTeamsClient to Microsoft default value starting from late July 2023. Secondly, administrators will have the power to deploy the new Teams client directly to PCs within their organization. Thirdly, new Teams will become the default app for classic Teams users according to scheduled details based on where the admin policy is set to Microsoft default.
The rollout will be initiated for business plans like Business Basic, Business Standard, Business Premium, and Teams Essentials (AAD), among other things, from late July to early August 2023. Following that, the new Microsoft Teams desktop client would become the default app for Enterprise plans, such as E3, E5, F3, starting mid-to-late July 2023. You can manage these new settings as an administrator according to your organization's preferences.
Note: If you've already deployed the policy to display or hide the toggle, you won't notice any changes.
If you're an admin or a Teams user, you must keep up with the latest developments in the new Teams rollout schedule to make the most of this robust productivity tool and its features.
