Microsoft Purview eDiscovery: Select user-owned SharePoint Embedded containers as a data source
Microsoft Purview eDiscovery will support selecting user-owned SharePoint Embedded containers as data sources for cases, searches, and holds starting mid-September 2026. This enables discovery of content from Microsoft Loop, Copilot Pages, and Notebooks, enhancing compliance investigations without changing permissions. No admin action is required. Microsoft Purview eDiscovery will support selecting user-owned SharePoint Embedded (SPE) containers when adding a person as a data source in an eDiscovery case, search, or hold. This enhancement helps organizations discover content stored in supported SharePoint Embedded containers that are owned by a selected user. These containers may contain content from Microsoft Loop, Copilot Pages, Copilot Notebooks, and other applications that use SharePoint Embedded storage. This improvement helps organizations include supported user-owned SharePoint Embedded content in eDiscovery workflows.
