30-Day Reminder: Windows Server 2022 will reach end of mainstream support on October 13, 2026

On October 13, 2026, Windows Server 2022 will reach end of mainstream support. The October 2026 security update will be the last mainstream support update available for this version. After this date, Windows Server 2022 will transition to extended support, which includes security updates at no additional cost, and will continue to receive monthly security updates through October 14, 2031. For more information, see the Fixed Lifecycle Policy. Hotpatch update support for Windows Server 2022 Datacenter: Azure Edition has been extended through October 2027. Devices enrolled in Hotpatch updates will continue to receive monthly security updates without requiring a restart. To learn more, see the Windows Server 2022 lifecycle page. Windows Server 2025 is now the latest Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) release for Windows Server. To help keep your environment protected and supported, plan to upgrade to Windows Server 2025 for full mainstream support. To download a free 180-day evaluation, visit the Microsoft Evaluation Center. Evaluate upgrade options and begin deployment testing early to help ensure a smooth transition. For detailed lifecycle dates, see the Windows Server 2022 lifecycle page. For servicing timelines and related resources, see Windows Server release information, Lifecycle FAQ – Windows Server, and Microsoft Lifecycle Policy search tool. Message ID: MC1470756
