Microsoft Loop – Retention Labels are available for Loop pages and components
Microsoft Loop users, rejoice – Retention Labels are coming to Loop pages and components, aligning with Microsoft Purview's records management capabilities. From late November to late December 2024, the rollout will see Retention Labels become available for Loop pages and components, with no action needed for tenants as existing labels will automatically apply to Loop content.
This development is a boon for organizations that benefit from Microsoft's records management capabilities in Purview, enabling them to streamline their workflows with Retention Labels on Loop pages and components. The labels can be applied within the app, and retention labels from Microsoft Purview Data Lifecycle Management and Microsoft Purview Records Management will be supported for .loop files by continually publishing them in OneDrive, SharePoint, or SharePoint Embedded.
If you're already utilizing retention labels, there's nothing you need to do to prepare for this upgrade; your current configuration will automatically become applicable for Loop content when the feature is rolled out. For those organizations eagerly awaiting retention labels' arrival, the wait is nearly over, with a late 2024 rollout planned.
