Microsoft Purview | Data Lifecycle Management: Simulation mode for automatically applied retention labels

Microsoft is introducing a new feature in its Purview tool that will allow Records Management admins to simulate the effects of applying retention labels or policies automatically. This feature will enable users to test the policies before implementing them in production and is set to be launched for general use in April 2023, with a preview version available in December 2022. The tool will be available on the web cloud instance worldwide for Standard Multi-Tenant users and is part of Microsoft's roadmap to enhance data lifecycle management.

If you are a Records Management admin looking for tools to help streamline your retention policies, this new feature in Purview could be a valuable addition to your toolkit. By allowing you to simulate the effects of retention labels and policies before deploying them, this feature can help ensure that your policies are effective and aligned with your organizational needs.
