Microsoft Purview Data Lifecycle Management: Retention policy support for legacy Microsoft Teams call data records
In a bid to enhance records management processes, Microsoft Purview Data Lifecycle Management now supports retention policy for legacy Microsoft Teams call data records (CDRs) which contain information about meeting participants and attendance. Previously, retention policies were only applicable to CDRs generated after September 21st, 2022, however, this change now means that CDRs generated before this date will also be automatically governed by the rules specified in the organization's Teams user chat and channel message retention policies. The rollout is set to begin in April 2023 and is expected to be completed by the end of June 2023. No action is required to enable this change but it is recommended that the Data Lifecycle Management team within organizations is informed of the updates.
