Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Endpoint Data Loss Prevention – Optical Character Recognition (OCR) on Mac Endpoints

Microsoft Purview compliance portal is adding OCR support to detect sensitive content in images on Mac endpoints to protect them against policy violations. The Purview DLP auto-labelling currently scans textual files for sensitive content but does not support images on Mac endpoints. With the added OCR support, sensitive content in images on Mac endpoints can be detected, and necessary actions taken to protect such data against policy violations. The release date for this feature is September CY2024, and it will be available on the web cloud instance platform for GCC, GCC High, and DoD.
