Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Optical character recognition (OCR) support for SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business

Microsoft has introduced a new feature in its Purview compliance portal that allows you to detect and protect sensitive content within images in SharePoint Online and OneDrive. With this capability, you can ensure that DLP policies are applied appropriately to prevent the exfiltration of sensitive data. Supported file types include JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and BMP. This update is in Preview Release phase and is scheduled for worldwide release in June of CY2023.
