Advance Room Finder Will Be Showing “floorLabel” Instead of “floor”
The Advanced Room Finder feature is receiving an update that would replace the "floor" attribute with the "floorLabel" attribute. Previously, users could filter rooms by floor using the "floor" attribute. The new update will offer a better alternative by using the "floorLabel" attribute. This change aims to reduce confusion caused by differences in how ground floors and underground floors are labeled in different regions and buildings. Additionally, the floor filter will display only those floors with rooms, and not those without rooms or workspaces. Furthermore, it will still show the floors sorted by floor number, even if using a string as floorLabel. Admins can customize the floorLabel and floorNumber attributes using the Places API Room resource type or the set-Places cmdlet. The update is anticipated to begin rolling out from mid-September, and users who have not already customized the floorLabel attribute need not take any action as the feature will revert to automatically converting the floor attribute to a string and displaying it in the floor filter.
