Bring-Your-Own-Device IT Admin Experience in Teams Pro Management Portal

IT administrators, rejoice! With Teams Pro Management Portal, you can now manage and track Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) rooms easily. BYOD rooms refer to rooms without Microsoft Teams Rooms but equipped with other peripherals such as cameras and microphones. The new addition allows you to gain insights into how these rooms are being utilized, enabling you to make data-driven decisions.
Upon logging in, IT admins will gain visibility of the BYOD rooms in the Teams Pro Management Portal, under the Inventory tab. Here, they will find a list of all the rooms within their organization, including information about BYOD rooms and devices. IT admins can associate each device to its specific BYOD room in two different methods - by importing the list of devices and adding the room information or through auto discovery by selecting the specific room from the list of available ones.
Admins can finally see the BYOD rooms' specific utilization metrics in the Report tab. However, to access the BYOD usage report, an $8 Teams Shared Device license will need to be assigned per room.
To prepare for accessing the BYOD in Teams Pro Management Portal, at least one pro/premium or Teams Shared Device license is required on tenant level. With this new feature, IT admins can enhance their setup management abilities, ensuring smooth functioning of workspaces.
