The Room Remote feature for desktop
The Room Remote feature is set to revolutionize the way we conduct touchless meetings. With this new functionality, users can control a nearby shared meeting room device from their desktop or PC using the Teams client, without ever having to touch it. This feature was previously only available on mobile devices but will now be accessible on Desktops with the Teams client. It is expected to roll out from mid-January 2023 and complete by the end of January 2023, following Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 95482.
This new feature will be automatically available on the Teams Desktop Client on your Windows Desktop PC as long as the Room Remote feature is enabled on the shared meeting room device and in TAC. There is no preparation work required, and users can simply start utilizing the feature to experience touchless meetings.
The Room Remote feature for desktop is a forward-thinking addition to Microsoft Teams that signals a step towards the future of touchless meetings. By streamlining the ability to control devices from remote locations, it grants more convenience and increases safety in this day and age.
