Microsoft Viva Engage: New “AI summarization” setting

Microsoft Viva Engage is adding an "AI summarization" setting to improve AI summaries and themes in Audience Analytics. This feature, adhering to Microsoft Responsible AI guidelines, will be controlled via Viva Feature Access Management, and will be available for premium licensed tenants starting late September 2024. The AI features can be turned ON, OFF, or ON with user opt-out using granular access policies in Viva Feature Access Management (VFAM). This feature is available to customers with licenses for Engage premium, Microsoft Viva Suite, or Microsoft Viva Employee Communications and Communities.

The updates to Audience Analytics AI summarization features will provide improved AI themes and summaries due to the improvements made to the underlying AI platform. The settings Audience-level sentiment, Theme-level sentiment, and Sentiment per top conversation will be retired and replaced by the AI summarization feature to align Microsoft with Responsible AI guidelines.

Overall, the new AI summarization setting in Microsoft Viva Engage enables leaders and their delegates in premium licensed tenants to create more effective AI summaries and themes in their Audience Analytics.
