Microsoft Viva Engage premium: Introducing Viva Feature Access Management

Microsoft is set to unveil its new Viva Feature Access Management (VFAM) tool, enabling admins to manage the rollout and accessibility of Microsoft Copilot and AI Summarization in Viva Engage. The feature will be made available to organizations with premium Microsoft Viva Engage licenses in late March 2024, with AI Summarization and Copilot becoming publicly available in late April 2024. VFAM will allow tenants and group policies to be used to enable or restrict access to the tools and to turn them on or off, enabling admins to create granular access policies that support a third state: ON with user opt-out. By enabling admins to control the rollout of these features before they become publicly available, the feature essentially gives them the keys to proactively manage and monitor the rollout to their users.

This announcement is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 117504. Access to AI Summarization and Copilot will be enabled by default for all users with premium Viva Engage licenses purchased as part of Microsoft Viva Suite or Microsoft Viva Employee Communications and Communities SKUs.
