Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management – Retention support for files shared as cloud attachments or links (U.S. Government clouds)
Microsoft Purview compliance portal gets an upgrade to enable automatic application of retention labels to cloud attachment versions for SharePoint or OneDrive content shared via links in emails or Teams messages. This feature is specifically tailored for the U.S. Government clouds, ensuring strict compliance with data retention policies and guidelines. The update was released on June CY2023 and is currently in the General Availability Release phase. The platform is web-based and hosted on Cloud Instances DoD, GCC High, and GCC.
With this update, Microsoft promises better Data Lifecycle Management, allowing organizations to manage their data retention policies in a more streamlined and efficient way.
