Microsoft Teams admin center: “WatermarkWithDisplayNameAndIP” retires in October 2024 from Teams meeting policy

Microsoft Teams admin center: “WatermarkWithDisplayNameAndIP” retires in October 2024 from Teams meeting policy

The Microsoft Teams meeting policy will retire the "WatermarkWithDisplayNameAndIP" value on October 27, 2024, leaving only "WatermarkWithDisplayName" and "JoinWithAudioOnly" to be supported from then on. While no action is required, organizations that are currently using "WatermarkWithDisplayNameAndIP" should inform their teams and update their documentation as necessary. After the retirement, if admins attempt to use "WatermarkWithDisplayNameAndIP," they will receive an error message. This change will occur automatically by the specified date.

If you are receiving this message, it is because your organization may be using the "WatermarkWithDisplayNameAndIP" value for "WatermarkForAnonymousUsers" in your Teams meeting policy settings. There is no need to take any action, but please notify your admins of this change and update relevant documentation, as required. MicrosoftTeams 6.5.0 will be updated before the policy retires.
