Microsoft Teams | Shifts app: Users must enable reminders for upcoming shifts and clocking in/out (Android users)
Attention Android users of Microsoft Teams Shifts app! Make sure to enable reminders for shifts and clocking in/out immediately due to API changes. This is applicable for frontline workers and managers who use Android devices. A pop-up will guide users to enable this in the OS settings, with an alternative option available in the Shifts settings page. Effective immediately, all Android users (managers and workers) must enable reminders in their device’s operating system in order to continue receiving them for upcoming shifts and clocking in/out. This is because Google made changes to Android’s API 34. The Shifts landing page on Android will display a pop-up to enable reminders for all users. If you dismiss this pop-up, you can still enable reminders by going to the Shifts Settings page. Don't forget to consent to the pop-up to receive upcoming shift and clock in/out reminders. For those not using Android devices and frontline worker functionality, you can ignore this message. Check out the references included in the post for more information.
