Microsoft Teams: Usability Improvements in Shifts app
Microsoft Teams has announced a set of usability improvements in its Shifts app aimed at enhancing the experience of frontline managers and workers. These improvements include:
- The Graph API for Day Notes, which enables the integration of day notes from third-party applications into the Shifts app.
- A people count display on the Shifts calendar, enabling managers to make more informed staffing decisions.
- The full display of team members' names visible in the team schedule to help managers quickly identify staff members.
- Automatic saving of the last filter settings, so when users relaunch the app, their preferred view from the last session is readily available.
- Shifts notes visible inline in Day view, saving time for frontline managers.
- Manager-controlled time-off reasons and notes visibility for employees, enhancing data privacy and control.
These enhancements are expected to roll out progressively from early October through late November 2023. By empowering frontline managers and workers with these new capabilities, Microsoft Teams aims to enhance the Shifts experience and improve the efficiency of workforce scheduling.
