SharePoint: Optical Character Recognition now supports hybrid PDFs (text and image)

If you use SharePoint, you'll be glad to know that its Optical Character Recognition (OCR) feature now supports hybrid PDFs, which contain both images and text. Previously, OCR was limited to image-only PDFs, but with this update, you can seamlessly extract and utilize text from hybrid documents. This improves the accessibility and usability of PDFs stored in SharePoint, making it easier to work with files that contain both images and text. The release is expected to be available in October CY2024 and will be accessible on the web cloud platform. For more information, refer to the Microsoft 365 roadmap ID 419808.
