Enable Deletion of Non-Empty Folders in SharePoint for Microsoft 365 and OneDrive | Data Lifecycle Management

Microsoft Purview compliance portal now offers a feature that allows end users to delete non-empty document library folders covered under a Retention policy. This feature is especially useful for folders containing many files, and it also prevents the reappearance of deleted folders for users who sync a document library offline using OneDrive for Business. This handy feature was released for general availability on May 3, 2024 and is available on various Microsoft platforms such as Web Cloud Instance DoD, Worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant), GCC High, and GCC. For more information on this feature, check out the roadmap link here.
