Data Lifecycle Management – Removing the Preservation Hold Library (PHL) access in SharePoint
In a recent update to SharePoint and OneDrive, Microsoft has decided to remove access to the Preservation Hold Library (PHL) from Site Contents and site navigation. The PHL was created to retain content that requires preservation, but was never intended to be user-visible or accessible. The change will rollout from late January to the end of February. However, site collection administrators will still have access to the PHL through its URL if required for specific scenarios.
If you're a Microsoft Purview Data Lifecycle Management or Records Management administrator, you may want to update relevant training and documentation to reflect this change. No action is necessary to enable this change.
