Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management – Hide the Preservation Hold Library from site users

Microsoft Purview's compliance portal is undergoing a change to hide the Preservation Hold Library (PHL) from site users. This change will only allow site collection administrators to access the PHL in SharePoint by navigating directly to it using the URL. The change will come into effect on January CY2023, during the General Availability Release phase of the Product Release. This change applies to the Web Cloud Instance Worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant), DoD, and GCC High platforms. The change was created on November 30, 2022, and its roadmap ID is 103613.

So if you're a site collection administrator, you can continue to access the PHL in SharePoint by navigating directly to it using the URL. For other users, the PHL will be hidden from view. Stay updated on the roadmap for more changes that might affect your experience.
