Data loss prevention and Oversharing in New Outlook – Supported conditions

In this post, learn about the latest updates to Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Policy tips in New Outlook. The updates provide more conditions and exceptions to the E3 and E5 licenses. These advanced features include override capabilities and advanced classifiers, such as Trainable classifiers, Exact Data Match (EDM), and Named Entities. This article details the supported conditions for these licenses, including content containing sensitive information, senders and recipients domains and membership, and subject keywords.
Existing DLP conditions outside of the updated list will stop working after October 18th, 2024. Admins can refer to the documentation for more details. The rollout of these new features begins late October 2024, with no immediate action required from users. If you are not using New Outlook or have not configured DLP policies to enable policy tips for emails with sensitivity labels, this update will not affect you.
Ensure that sensitive data is always protected by adopting the practices outlined here. Keep in mind that override capabilities should only be granted to those who are authorized to modify or override policies. With the new DLP updates in place, you can rest assured that your organization will stay on top of potential data loss and oversharing issues.
