Microsoft Purview | Data Loss Prevention: Decoupling policy tips and email notifications for SharePoint and OneDrive

Microsoft Purview is introducing a new feature allowing for the separate configuration of policy tips and user email notifications for SharePoint and OneDrive, following the behavior of Microsoft Exchange. System administrators will have the option to enable either or both features, or neither, and will be able to configure the rules for notification, which can include only policy tips, only user email notifications, or both. The rollout of this new feature will begin in mid-May 2024 for Public Preview and in mid-June 2024 for General Availability. After rollout, administrators can use PowerShell or Data Loss Prevention (DLP) settings to configure policy tips and user email notifications. This update aims to improve data loss prevention and ensure alignment between Microsoft Purview and other Microsoft products.
