Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention: Configure policy tips for emails with sensitivity labels

Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention policies are being updated to integrate policy tips for emails with sensitivity labels. This development is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 100157 and is set to hit public preview status in early March, while rollout to general availability will begin in early April and end in late April.

With this update, admins can configure DLP policies to define policy tips that appear for users when they attempt to send email messages with a sensitivity label on either the email or attachment. When triggered, a pop-up containing the policy tip will appear, notifying users of sensitive content in their message and requesting them to justify their action or notifying them that their action has been blocked by policy rules.

To prepare, it is recommended that admins configure policy tips for Data Loss Prevention in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal.
