Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – Outlook win32 DLP Policy tip & oversharing popup support for new DLP Predicates

Microsoft Purview compliance portal has introduced two new DLP Exchange predicates to support DLP policy tips and oversharing popups for E5 users. These new predicates, "Message contains" and "Attachment contains," enable targeted DLP evaluation on specific email components and show DLP Policy tips and oversharing popups in Outlook win32. These predicates focus on client-side evaluations on specific email components like email body or attachments only, unlike the more comprehensive "Content contains" predicate that evaluates the entire email envelope.

This development offers a more targeted approach to DLP evaluations during client-side exchanges and adds to an array of features offered by the Microsoft Purview compliance portal to manage data security and prevent data loss in Outlook win32. The product is slated for General Availability Release by October CY2024 and will be available on Web Cloud Instance GCC High, DoD, GCC.
