New Outlook for Windows: Multi-account support for add-Ins and apps

New Outlook for Windows: Multi-account support for add-Ins and apps

The new Outlook for Windows is set to receive an update which will allow apps and add-ins to be supported for all accounts. The user's view of these apps and add-ins will dynamically change to the active identity. This is set to roll out from late October 2024 for Targeted Release and late November 2024 for General Availability, with no admin action required beforehand.

This update eliminates the current restriction whereby apps and add-ins are only supported for the user's primary account, and secondary accounts show no add-ins. Instead, all available add-ins and modules will dynamically change to reflect what is available in the context of a selected message or user account. Admins will no longer need to ensure an account is marked primary for add-ins to function. The feature is on by default and is expected to have no negative impact on user functionality.

If you're an Outlook for Windows user, be on the lookout for this exciting update in late 2024! The post New Outlook for Windows: Multi-account support for add-Ins and apps originally appeared on M365 Admin.
