Outlook: Developers can now build Microsoft Teams apps with Outlook add-ins as extension element

Microsoft has announced that developers can now create and distribute Teams apps with Outlook add-ins for their customers. Users can install these Teams apps with Outlook add-ins via Outlook on the web, new Outlook for Windows, and classic Outlook for Windows clients. Admins can also deploy these apps to users from Integrated Apps in Microsoft 365 Admin Center. The new feature is now generally available on both desktop and cloud instances for Microsoft 365 users worldwide. The feature was released in March CY2024, and Roadmap ID 382657 covers it.

To summarize, Microsoft has enabled developers to build and publish Teams apps with Outlook add-ins, and users can install them through various platforms. This feature is globally available to desktop and cloud users of Microsoft 365 and was released in March CY2024.
