Microsoft Power BI

Microsoft Power BI

Microsoft Power BI is a powerful tool that utilizes two main languages or scripts, Power Query and DAX, for effective data transformation and processing. Power Query, also known as M queries due to their use of M functions, allows for the transformation of source data through its scripts, with the option to include R and Python scripts for added functionality. Once the transformed data is ready, the frontend DAX language, short for Data Analysis Expression, can be used for real-time measures and data processing within reports. However, DAX is optional and only necessary if additional processing logic is required post-transformation. Overall, Power Query is ideal for backend data processing, while DAX is best suited for frontend data processing. This episode delves deeper into the many observations around Microsoft Power BI.
