Microsoft Purview Data Lifecycle Management: Retention policy support for Microsoft Teams control messages

Microsoft Teams control messages are system-generated artifacts that contain information about actions taken in Teams, such as adding or removing a user from a chat. These messages are not included in the types of messages supported for retention policies for Teams until now. Microsoft has announced "Phase 1" of a plan to add support for retention and deletion of some types of Teams control messages via retention policies for Teams, beginning to deploy in late March and finishing in April. Phase 1 includes support for control messages generated during adding or removing a member to a chat or Team in Teams chats and Teams channels locations. This inclusion happens automatically, and no changes are required to your configuration. You may want to inform the team responsible for Data Lifecycle Management at your organization.
