Microsoft Purview | Audit: Granular scoping with role-based access control (RBAC)

In today's world of large organizations, IT departments delegate some of their day-to-day tasks to specific people or roles in the organization in adherence to the industry standards of least privilege access. Admins look to delegate role-based permissions to users or analysts in a granular way to ensure functions or geographies are aligned. In this release, Microsoft Purview's Audit feature will enable role-based information to be included in Audit search results through the UI, providing greater granular scoping with role-based access control (RBAC). With this feature, users are equipped to delegate specific role-based permissions based on function or scope of work, making it efficient to manage access controls on a granular level. This feature is currently in Preview mode and has a planned General Availability Release in December 2022, and is available for the Worldwide Standard Multi-Tenant cloud instance on the web platform.
