Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Exact Data Match adding support for role-based access control (RBAC) for EDM upload authorization

Microsoft Purview compliance portal is introducing a new feature that offers customers the option to use Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to authorize users for uploading data to the Exact Data Match (EDM) service. This offers an alternative to the existing option of using the EDM_DataUploaders security group for authorization. The new feature will be generally available by November CY2023 and will be accessible via the worldwide web cloud platform. This enhancement is aimed at improving the customer experience by allowing for better control, accessibility, and security in the data uploading process.
