Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Communication Compliance – User scoping role-based access control (RBAC)

Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance now enables organizations to effectively manage and remediate compliance violations by assigning different levels of authority to users based on geography or organizational units using Role-based Access Control (RBAC). This means that, for instance, German investigators can only investigate messages from German users, while German administrators can only manage policies for German users. Communication Compliance is a tool designed to help organizations detect compliance violations such as the sharing of sensitive or confidential information, harassment, or sharing of adult content that violate SEC or FINRA regulations. Built with privacy by design, the tool ensures that usernames are pseudonymized by default and that all investigators are opted in by an admin. This feature is available globally as a web cloud instance and will be widely released by December CY2023.
