Microsoft Teams: UDP Signaling Ports configuration change

Microsoft Teams: UDP Signaling Ports configuration change

Microsoft Teams is updating its UDP signaling ports to enhance efficiency in its Calling and Meetings feature. Admins should prepare for the change by allowing UDP Source Ports 50070-50089 to Destination Ports 3478 to 52.112.0.0/14, 52.122.0.0/15, 2603:1063::/38. The change will occur worldwide by early October 2024, and it intends to reduce the number of ports used and make Quality of Service (QoS) DSCP markers applicable to the traffic. This update will transition Teams' UDP signaling from source ports 49152-65535 to 50070-50089, but the destination UDP port will remain 3478. Admins currently allowing UDP signaling should not require any changes as the new range is a smaller subset inside of the existing ranges.
