Microsoft Teams: Updated network setup requirements for immersive spaces
Microsoft Teams is introducing a new backend infrastructure for immersive spaces, simplifying network setup for organizations. The rollout is set to begin in mid-August 2024 and completed by late September 2024, with no admin action required. The introduction of this new infrastructure will reduce endpoint and firewall configuration requirements resulted in significant service improvement. During the rollout, endpoints and ports required for Microsoft Teams and Azure Communication Services will be simplified, and users won’t have to consent to Mesh's terms for spatial audio anymore. As a result, organizations will no longer need extensive endpoint and firewall configuration requirements as the backend infrastructure will be the same as that of Microsoft Teams. The rollout is expected to improve service and simplify the network setup for immersive spaces.
