Microsoft Teams: Archive channels

In Microsoft Teams, channel owners and administrators can now choose to archive channels to keep the content preserved without keeping the channel active. This feature is particularly useful for paused or completed projects. Once a channel is archived, it will no longer be visible in your and channel members' teams and channels list, and no actions such as messaging, reacting, commenting or editing will be allowed on the channel. However, team members can still access and read through the channel content and can hoist the channel in their left rail after archival. If needed, the channel can also be restored. This feature will be rolled out starting from early January and is expected to be completed by January 2024. It is essential to communicate with teams and channel owners to use the archive channel capability to keep the channel in read-only mode. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 123769.
So, if you are a Teams user and want to keep your channel content preserved without keeping the channel active, archiving channels can be a great solution for you.
