Microsoft Teams: Promote channel creation
Microsoft Teams is set to make it easier for users to create channels, which serve as the primary collaboration space in a team. This follows an observation of increased team proliferation and difficulty in managing teams due to unbridled team creation. As a result, channel creation will be elevated to the top level, with users now able to create channels and select which team to host them in. This change will be rolled out in January 2024, with targeted release rolling out earlier in the month and standard release in mid-January.
To prepare for this transition, it's important to encourage end-users to choose the appropriate team when creating channels from the + button in the Teams and Channels list.
