Microsoft Teams: Enhanced Chat contextual info and Search
Microsoft Teams is introducing new chat features to its desktop, web, and Mac users, including contextual information access and chat search. These features will be available for Targeted Release starting in late July 2024 and continue rolling out through September 2024. With the update, chat users will be able to access contextual information, including People, Pinned messages, and Shared files and links. Chat search will also be available in the top right corner of the chat window. These enhancements improve the user experience, allowing for more efficient communication and collaboration within the Teams interface. No admin action is required for this update, and the default state will be on for all Teams users.
Be sure to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate. The Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 398956 is associated with this feature.
