Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Auto-labeling support OneDrive users and group scoping (U.S. Government clouds)

Microsoft has announced that its service side auto-labeling now supports scoping of OneDrive workload to OneDrive users and groups instead of Site URLs. Existing policies configured with Site URLs will still work but can’t be edited to add more Site URLs. However, existing policies can remove Site URLs from location to trigger the new OneDrive user and group picker. This update is available on the web cloud instance of the government community cloud (GCC), DoD, and GCC High. The release date is slated for October 2023 and is part of Microsoft's efforts to improve its compliance portal, specifically for information protection and auto-labeling support for OneDrive users and group scoping in US government clouds.
