Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management – Cloud attachments support file versions shared as links (U.S. Government clouds)
Microsoft has announced an update to its Purview compliance portal that supports cloud attachments shared as links in Outlook and Microsoft Teams messages. This feature will now retain files shared as hyperlinks in the body of an email or Teams message, making it easier for users to collaborate on files while still complying with standards for data lifecycle management.
Previously, cloud attachments only worked for links shared using the attachments button in Outlook and Teams. This new feature will be available for U.S. Government cloud instances, including GCC, GCC High, and DoD. The General Availability release is slated for June CY2023.
If you're a Microsoft 365 admin, this update is worth noting as it streamlines the collaboration process while maintaining regulatory compliance.
