Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – MIP auto-labeling for Azure SQL & Storage
Microsoft's Purview compliance portal has added a new feature that enables users to extend sensitivity labels to specific or all subscriptions within Azure Storage and Azure SQL Server via auto-labeling policy. With this feature, labeling conditions for data sources beyond Microsoft 365 can be clearly defined without interfering with existing Microsoft 365 files configurations. This feature is currently in the Preview release phase, and its release date is scheduled for March CY2025 with the Preview date set for November CY2024. The platform for this feature is the Web Cloud Instance Worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant). For more information, check out the Microsoft roadmap ID 429876.
