Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) ML Classifier support

Microsoft has integrated trainable classifiers from Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) to recognize various content types specific to an organization into its Insider Risk Management in Microsoft 365. This integration correlates various information from the chip to the cloud to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks such as security breaches and policy violations. The design is privacy-oriented with pseudonymization of users by default, role-based access controls and audit logs all in place to ensure user-level privacy.

The general availability release is slated for December CY2023, and the platform will be accessible via web cloud instance GCC, GCC High, and DoD. This feature is intended to help organizations protect their data from insider threats, including IP theft and other risks.
