Microsoft Purview: Insider Risk Management – Improvements to “Deleting of SharePoint files/folders” indicators

Microsoft has made updates to its "Deleting of SharePoint files/folders" indicators in Purview Insider Risk Management. The indicators will now capture files and folders moved to the recycle bin, in addition to permanent deletions.

Purview Insider Risk Management aims to identify potential insider risks, such as data leakage and IP theft, through a combination of signals. Users are pseudonymized by default, and privacy is maintained through role-based access controls and audit logs.

With these updates, customers can create policies based on their own internal governance and organizational requirements to minimize insider risks. The addition of more activities being captured by the indicators will allow customers to have even more visibility and control over their data.
