Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management- OCR support in Insider Risk Management

Microsoft has announced an update to its Purview Insider Risk Management platform that enhances its scanning capabilities by adding Optical Character Recognition (OCR) functionality. This update helps identify risky activities related to images in endpoints, SharePoint and Teams messages that may lead to potential data security incidents. The Purview Insider Risk Management platform is designed to correlate various indicators to detect and identify potential malicious behavior by insiders such as security violations, data leakage, and intellectual property theft. The platform also allows customers to create their own policies based on organizational requirements, and includes privacy features by default such as pseudonymization, audit logs, and role-based access controls. This latest update will help strengthen the Insider Risk Management offering in detecting potential insider security risks.
