Microsoft SharePoint: Collaborate on SharePoint Pages and News with coauthoring
SharePoint is introducing coauthoring for Pages and News, allowing multiple authors to edit simultaneously with real-time changes. This feature, associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 124853, will begin rolling out late June 2024 for Targeted Release and early August 2024 for General Availability. The rollout will happen automatically, with no admin action required. With coauthoring, multiple authors can edit the same Page at the same time, and users can see real-time changes made by others in Pages, sections, and web parts. Before this rollout, only one author could edit a Page at a time, and no other user could edit until the author published or saved the draft. However, after this rollout, authors can edit a Page or News post simultaneously, and each author can see the presence of other authors and the web parts each author is editing. This feature is accessible to all SharePoint authors and will roll out to all new and existing Pages and News posts. No action is needed to prepare, but it is recommended to notify SharePoint authors and update any relevant documentation about the change.
