Microsoft Outlook: Behavior change for “Org Data Notifications” for Android

Microsoft Outlook: Behavior change for “Org Data Notifications” for Android

Microsoft Outlook for Android will undergo a behavior change regarding Org Data Notifications starting mid-September 2024. After this date, Outlook for Android will align with the documented behavior, which means that it will ignore the 'Block' setting for 'Org Data Notifications.' This change is related to the App Protection Policy and App Configuration Policy. Before this rollout, Outlook for Android blocked all notifications instead of only blocking sensitive data from being exposed in an Outlook notification when the APP Org Data Notifications setting was set to Block. No admin action is required for the rollout. Organizations should review their settings to ensure desired notification behavior. After the rollout, the Block setting for Org Data Notifications will no longer have an effect in Outlook for Android. Customers should update their admins about this change and review the Outlook App Config Policy documentation to prepare for the upcoming change.
