Outlook Mobile: New in-app Contact editor

Outlook Mobile is introducing a new Contact editor, replacing the device's native editor, with the aim to enforce Intune policies related to contact creation and editing, and reduce the dependency on Contact Syncing. Starting from late April 2024, the rollout will happen automatically with no admin action required, and it is expected to complete by mid-May 2024. The new Contact editor will enable organizations to apply Intune policies on contact creation and editing, such as preventing copy and pasting data in or out of the Contact editor. This will give users the ability to create and manage contacts in Outlook Mobile instead of the device's native editor. The rollout will not directly impact the Outlook Mobile Contact Sync/Save feature but is expected to reduce dependency on it. Therefore, it is recommended that users review their existing Intune policies and update their documentation for this rollout. This feature is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 384869. Users whose organizations do not support iOS and/or Android mobile devices can skip this message.
