Microsoft Purview | Information Protection – New Contextual Conditions in Service- Side Auto-labeling

Microsoft Purview Information Protection has made significant progress in content-based classification with the addition of new classifiers and improvements in accuracy. However, customers now seek to classify sensitive information based on contextual attributes. In response, Microsoft is introducing new conditions and exceptions that can be used in auto-labeling policies, including file extension, document size, document name, and document creator. These standalone conditions will roll out by late August. To prepare, tenants must enable sensitivity labels for Office files in SharePoint and OneDrive and turn on auditing for simulations to work. Additionally, configuration is required for the "Document property is" predicate when used in OneDrive or SharePoint locations. Stay informed by reviewing the provided public documentation and the service-side auto-labeling playbook.
