Microsoft Purview | Information Protection: Office apps can now audit protection properties applied to a document through sensitivity labels

Microsoft Purview now offers a more comprehensive audit experience for Office apps in terms of protection properties applied to a document through sensitivity labels. The audit fields related to document protection status have been added to include details on how protection changed due to a specific event. This means that fields such as protectionEventType, documentEncrypted, documentEncryptedBefore, protectionType, protectionTypeBefore, protectionTemplateId, protectionTemplateIdBefore, protectionOwner and protectionOwnerBefore have now been included in the audit trail for PowerPoint. This update is set to roll out in December CY2022 with a preview scheduled for November CY2022.
Overall, this change aims to enhance the Information Protection capabilities of Office apps and bring more visibility into the protection status of documents.
